Are you ready for a whole new way of looking at success?

My business coach, Mark LeBlanc, has a favorite saying: Your success is not determined by your results, your success is determined by your momentum, your momentum is fueled by how you feel on a daily basis, and how you feel on a daily basis is determined by the consistent daily application of the best you have within you.
Please read it again! Your success is not determined by your results.

The high we feel from a success tied to a result fades pretty quickly. That is why we need a new paradigm shift and have our success be determined by our momentum.

Do no wait until you get a new client to feel successful, do not wait until you get your next speaking event to feel successful, and do not wait until someone takes you up on your latest promotion to feel successful.

Feel successful because every day you get up and do your best.

Which bring me to a question for you? Are you doing your best every day? Really?

How much time are you spending?

Hanging out in Facebook

Surfing the web aimlessly

Reorganizing our desk drawer

Thinking about making phone calls but none get made

Redoing your to-do list over and over

Taking another teleclass on your area of expertise when you know enough right now to help others – but you’re waiting until you learn ‘one more thing’

What if you:

Made one busienss development phone call every day

Started and published a monthly newsletter

Consistently posted a tip every 3 times a week on Facebook

Developed a workshop to give in your community in the next 2 months

Wrote an eBook in the next 30 days

Wrote a blog post once a week

Researched and visited a new networking group

Sent 100 postcards this month to prospects

Signed up for a trade show booth

These are examples of taking action consistently every day to grow your business. Doing this will make you feel great, when you feel great you have momentum, and when you have momentum you are a success. Do not base your success on whether or not you have results with these actions – you are a success because you took action.

The biggest difference between entrepreneurs who make it and those who don’t is their confidence. Build your confidence by taking consistent action every day to market your business and let people know that you can’t wait to help them have a better life.

Now is your time. 2012 IS YOUR YEAR.

Would you like to really, I mean really, have this be the year you are more productive and feel less stressed?

It’s easier than you think. I feel that somewhere along the way we got the misconception that we’re not worthy unless we are doing a bunch of things at once and feeling stressed out and overwhelmed. It tires me just to read that sentence.

The main reason I can get so much done during the day is that I first prioritize my work by what is the most important use of my time to what is the least. And then I start at the top of the list and focus on one thing at a time.

I love my GPS. My kids gave it to me as a gift and it’s one of my favorites. In a my kids were making fun of me because they know how horribly directional illiterate I am, but I don’t care – I love her. I love her so much I gave her the name of GiniPoo. I’m thinking of buying her a necklace.

No matter how many times I take a wrong turn GiniPoo never gets angry. She just says in a very calm voice “Recalculate…recalculate”. And then tells me how to get back on track. She helps me see that it’s not the end of the world when I mess up.

This is true in our life, not just on the road. Look back at your life and think about the mistakes you’ve made. Didn’t you learn amazing lessons with each one? I can’t even count the mistakes I’ve made as a wife, a mom, a business owner but as long as I learn from each one and then move forward – it’s not the end of the world.

Is it time for you to forgive past mistakes and look ahead?

Every time you fail, look on it as a learning tool. What can you do different next time? How can you improve? Life will just keep getting better and better.

Let me know below how you are going to leave past mistakes behind and look ahead to the future.

Are you ready to add something new for your prospects and clients? Then get ready to give a teleclass!

I bet if you haven’t started giving teleclasses you’ve thought about it. Well, it’s time!

12 Steps to Add Teleclasses to Your Business – and have fun!:

What is your topic? Think of everything that you help your clients with: Closets, paper, e-mail, filing, kitchen organization, etc. Pick one for your topic and it should be something that you LOVE talking about!.

Give it a title. A great template is How to ___________ So You Can _______________________ . (From “Speak and Grow Rich” by Dotty and Lilly Walters)

Plot out your timeline. Figure the first 10 minutes is your opening where you introduce yourself, why you are giving the teleclass, what makes you the expert on this topic, and what you’re going to cover.

If it’s an hour teleclass then you can figure 40 minutes for the content and the last 10 minutes for your closing.

Make sure you speak a little slower than normal as your voice may be hard to understand over the phone line and be sure and repeat important points and spell out any web sites/e-mail addresses that you give.

If you’re going to promote something during your class take 2 minutes at the 15-minute mark, the 30-minute mark, and the 45-minute mark to promote.

To promote this teleclass to your list I would give them a heads up a month before to put in their calendar and then I would do specific promotions 10 days before, 3 days before, and the day of the teleclass.

Prepare your handout and e-mail to registrants or have a special link to a page with your handout and any other forms/pictures you want them to see.

Keep good track of your registrants. They’ll be a great list to market other teleclasses to down the road.

Have a great time giving your teleclass!

The day after the teleclass send an e-mail with a link to the recording.

Follow-up one week after the teleclass asking how they are doing with the information and give them the link again.

The biggest difference between entrepreneurs who make it and those who don’t is their confidence. Build your confidence by learning a new skill and then take the courage to put into practice what you learned.

For example – you may be organizing your junk drawer and find a tool that belongs in the garage. Thinking that you are doing this organizing thing right you go to put the tool away in the garage.

While you’re there you think that you might as well organize the tools! You completely forget that you were organizing the junk drawer and when you go back in the house you’re shocked at the mess you’ve left in the kitchen. But by that time you need to leave for an appointment so you shove everything back in the drawer and it’s worse than before! Have a bag marked ‘take to another area’ for items you find that belong somewhere else and bring them away AFTER you are done organizing.

I’ve faced this fear, too, until one day years ago when I had started my business I had a meeting with myself and said “Elizabeth, how could you possibly know everything? This is your first time owning a home-based business, you are the only organizing expert and speaker on this topic in this area, and you have just started learning to do this, and there are people out there who have been doing this much longer than you. Stop thinking that you know everything, you don’t, and that is ok.” I gave myself permission not to have to know everything.

None of us are alone. All of us are in an industry where others have blazed the trail and they can help us shorten the learning curve by years.

Take a stack of 3×5 cards and put each step of the task on a card. Then lay the cards in front of you and ask yourself “What do I need to do first?” Take that card and lay it upside down. Then ask “What do I need to do second?” Take that card and lay it upside down on the first, and so on. When you’re done the large overwhelming task has now been broken down into steps and seems much more manageable.
